Blog Tips - How to Blog For Money By Charles Boustany
So many blog tips you see today pertain to the mechanics of blogging. I thought in this article we would get down to the basics and talk about how to blog for money.
There are basically two ways you can make money blogging.
1. You can create your own blogs and monetize them in various ways.
2. You can write blog articles for other blog owners and get paid for the writing you do.
So which is the best way to make money blogging?
If you are brand new starting out you may want to consider starting a blog of your own and practicing on yourself first. One benefit to this is you can develop your own style of writing.
You can also use your blog for sample articles that you can refer potential customers to. Assuming that you become a quality writer this should be helpful in attracting new customers.
Another benefit to starting your own blog and monetizing it is you can develop an ongoing income through repeat traffic. People that come to your blog will want to bookmark it and come back to see what you are up to.
Monetizing a blog is easy to do thanks to affiliate programs such as Google AdSense, Commission Junction, and ClickBank. These are three good sources for products to promote on your blog.
The Google AdSense program is a pay per click program which pays you when people click on ads. Commission Junction is one of the largest cost per action affiliate networks and is a good source for pay per lead programs. Click Bank is the largest digital information affiliate network in the world and a great source for information products.
The other way we mentioned is to write blog articles for other blog owners. The sky is the limit when creating income this way. There are millions of blogs sitting dormant right now because the owners can't keep up with them.
Believe it or not finding quality blog writers is not easy to do. This gives you an opportunity to develop a handful of consistent customers who want to hang on to you if you do a good job for them.
You literally can make a full time income writing blog articles and the work is never boring.
In summary when we look at how to blog for money, whether you choose to do it for yourself, or write for other people becomes a personal choice. Many bloggers ultimately decide to do both and earn an outstanding income doing it.

Increase Blog Traffic - How Social Marketing Can Drive More Traffic to Your Blog By Keith Goodrum

When it comes to getting traffic to your blog, there are many tactics and methods that can help you get the job done, but knowing which ones that work is the difficult part. In the past, all you needed to do was put up a blog, add keywords to your meta tags, and you'd have no problem getting readership to your website. Unfortunately, those days are long gone.
As the Internet evolves, the need to keep up with current ways to attract visitors becomes increasingly important. The past few years we've seen a major shift in blog traffic techniques. Social media is playing a major role in attracting more visitors to your website. Thus the importance for knowing how social marketing can benefit your blog.
First, what is social marketing?
Before the benefits can be addressed, you need to understand exactly what social marketing is. This is a method which takes advantage of and taps into the enormous amount of visitors these various social sites generate. Examples of these sites include: video sites (such as YouTube), bookmarking sites (such as Digg), networking sites (such as Facebook), and others (such as Twitter).
How Social Media Can Increase Blog Traffic
1. Direct Traffic - Is any visitor arriving to your site directly from any of your efforts. This would be any content you add, interaction you have with other members and the voting or book marking you do while using these sites.
2. Indirect Traffic - Is any visitor to your site without your direct efforts. This would be people who visit your blog from places like your profile, or a place like the featured section of the various social sites.
3. Referred Traffic - Anyone who arrives to your website by being referred from another place. Examples would be from the search engines, or the search function of the different sites; and could also include any time another member of the Social Media site votes or recommends your content.
